Sadly...

I just had my last piece of chocolate for a while. Please, cry with me.

Spencer has had some really foul-smelling gas, has been fussy and is not pooping regularly. Gratefully, he is not screaming in pain, sleeps fairly decent and eats fine. This is a very recent thing for him, so we will see if cutting all dairy helps. Has anyone else dealt with this? Suggestions?

During Tropical Storm Fay

As we watched our street and backyard fill up...

We dug a trench so it would not enter our home...

painted, colored and did some crafts...

Dallin and Spencer got to know one another better...

played house in a bassinet...

& Candyland on the floor (while watching the Olympics)...

and listed our Mac on eBay.

By the way, we are bad, bad parents...our garden flooded...I guess you can water it too much.

4. Is a great snuggler.
5. Burp cloths (notice the plural) must be close by after a feeding.

Success (so far)

Our humble square foot garden is growing! We planted onions, peppers, watermelon, peas and eggplant. So far, all but the eggplant has sprouted. For family night, we "worked in the garden" together. Next, we are building a cover so our work is not destroyed by some curious animal. How exciting and fun!

Kylie is 4!

Happy Birthday to our Little Dylie! She chose her birthday dinner of salad (with all the works), blueberries, carrots & ranch, chicken fingers and strawberry shortcake. Needless to say, I was pleased with her healthy choices. She is such a sweet child and we are so grateful to have her as part of her family. I can't believe how fast she is growing up.

Congratulations, Happy (and Jared and Teya)!

Give it up for Happy! She pushed out this adorable 10 lb. 8 oz., 23 inch long baby boy, Dallin Jared. And she did it VBAC (vaginal after ceaseran) style. We are so excited to finally have you here (Spencer would not even hint about when you were coming - little stinker!).

Looking Happy Hot.

With his daddy.

Random

Random. I love this word. Especially since it describes my life most of the time. And
here are some random pictures from my blogging hiatus.

Enjoying fruit smoothies.

Swimming lessons - round 2 for the summer.

Big helper. Big sister.

Kylie opening an early birthday present from grandma (and she could not leave out Ashlyn).

With her new sleeping bag get-up.

With Uncle Jared.

Jared putting up our new big screen. Everyone has one of these in their front room, right?

The infamous David burrito wrap.

With Grandma Astorga.

He did not enjoy his first bath though it seems as he did in the picture.

Amazing Memory

Children pick up everything. I have been amazed recently at the things that Kylie remembers and how she is really understanding TV shows, movies, etc. - not just watching them.

Monday we were having a family home evening about not partaking of things that are harmful to our bodies specifically tea and coffee. This is a discussion we have never had before with her and I do not think she even knows what these items are. Backing up in time a little, over the weekend, we watched the Bee Movie (a great movie, BTW). In this movie, there is a very short scene where the lady and bee have coffee together. Kylie remembered this and said, "Oh, yeah, last weekend when Daddy rented the Bee Movie and they had 2 cups of coffee. They should not have done that." We were amazed and had to jog our memory of this scene. We were doubly surprised that she could recall this part in the movie when she did not even know what coffee was in the first place. This is just a small example of the everyday things our children do that prove they are taking it all in.
