Showering baby boy

A great, big thank you to all those who put together and attended (some in body, some in spirit:)) the shower for our baby. A fun time was had by all especially me particularly as my sisters ambushed me with kisses, not something I am fond of (maybe I can get a copy of that picture to post)! Oh, and I am not that huge in real life - it is the shirt. I think I need a professional photographer to place me where my best angle is shown off; I am convinced there has got to be at least one good side.

Stuck!

My COMPLETED sewing project

This is definitely something to document. I am notorious for starting sewing projects of any kind and not finishing them. I started and finished my very own Hooter Hider in the same day. For those of you nursing and who have never used one of these - you are missing out on the greatest invention ever. I had one for Ashlyn, but lost it - one of the few days I can remember crying about. So, when my sister-in-law (thanks, Melissa) sent me this link to make my own (http://www.breastfeeding123.com/free-pattern-to-sew-your-own-nursing-cover/), I jumped all over it! Now, with my Hooter Hider, I am officially ready for our son to come!

She's graduated

Our little Idget Midget is finally above the 3% in her height! She's now in the 8%. Very exciting times!

Now THIS is something to blog about...

...at least that is what David said when these were installed, so I figured I should take advantage. We loaded up the kids and traveled to a friend's house 2 miles away for 2 days, so we would not die in the nicely heated house. I must admit, though it is hard to spend the money on a new A/C unit (ours was 17 years old), it has already been worth it - quieter, efficient and, having replaced all the duct work, healthier. For more information, contact David (he said he would be available to give you details on how it all operates). Oh, we got a great deal through someone David works with, so if you need your system replaced, we've got the hook up.

Happy Independence Day!

Our goal was to go downtown this year and take advantage of some of the free stuff going on - ice skating show, activities in Metro Park, fireworks and lot of other cool things. But, we did not make it. First of all, the fireworks were not until 9:45 pm - what were we thinking??? It would not have been enjoyable with 2 very tired girls. We had a great day anyway...

getting a lot of the 'little' things done in the house (this is how Ashlyn helps out),




going swimming at the YMCA, enjoying sprinklers with the neighbors,


shooting off our own fireworks, and, of course, cooking out then finishing it off with homemade apple pie (yummy!).
